Last night we had our second team meeting. We met at the home of Bill and Joyce, and Don and Rechile came. There were three other people who wanted to attend but had a prior commitment. Starting in September we will be meeting twice a month on the 1st and 3rd weekends. We will decide this week if we will meet on Saturday or Sunday.
I did a quick overview again of our Vision, Mission, and Values. I then spent the remainder of the evening speaking on the part of the vision “…a family that is passionate about their relationship with Christ”
Before we can build a family that is passionate about their relationship with Christ, we must make sure that is a description of us as individuals.
Passionate about their relationship with Christ It begins with me, it begins with you. How is my relationship with Christ? Let’s be real honest. What gets in the way with my relationship with Jesus? What are distractions? How much time do I spend in prayer and in God’s word each week?
Do I live by faith or fear? What do I do when what I “see,” “circumstances,” that do not line up with the call or vision from God. Matt 8:23-27 Jesus was a sleep in the boat while the disciples were afraid. What was in the way of the disciples destination? Jesus new what his destiny was. He new that he had more to complete. He was confident in what the Father had called Him to do. His disciples however, saw only the immediate situation. To live by faith we must hold onto the vision and call God has placed on our lives and the fact that God is faithful.
Exodus 14:15 As the children of
Our faith will keep us moving forward when things seem to be going in the wrong direction. A line from a TobyMac song seems to sum it up. “…Sometimes there is nothing left except to believe”

This is such a strong image that describes what ministry at Redeemer’s Way will be like; I can not believe I have not already put this out on the blog. Several months ago during praise and worship at Living Way, I saw a vision of Redeemer’s Way. The altar was packed with people wanting prayer. As they began to leave, there were piles of broken chains left behind. Then the words came to my mind, “House of Broken Chains.”
Redeemer’s Way will be a place where people can be healed in their bodies, mind and spirit. Lives will be restored by the love of Christ. The “Chains” of the struggles of life will break and fall off through the power of the Holy Spirit. Redeemer’s Way will be a “House of Broken Chains”
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion– to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

This past weekend, Janice and I attended the Pastors Conference at Living Way. It was for the Pastors and current church planters in the Foursquare Gulf Atlantic District. (Georgia and Alabama) It was a great weekend. Pastor Dale Evrist from Brentwood Tennessee was the keynote speaker. You can visit his church website by clicking here. (Will share more on his messages in a later blog)
Only a couple of times in my life have I had someone directly prophesy over my life. At the close of the conference on Saturday night, Bishop Scott Reece along with the district superintendents laid their hands own and prayed for each Pastor.
Pastor Terry Stair from New Life Foursquare Church in Milledgeville GA prayed for me towards the end. He began to speak over me and the ministry of Redeemer’s Way. As he began speak he tapped into the vision of Redeemer’s Way. He began speaking that through my (Redeemer’s Way) ministry the captives will be set free, the broken hearted and the sick will be healed. I got to know Pastor Terry back in March at our district men’s advance, and our spirits seemed to connect. But, the only way he could so eloquently put words to Redeemer’s vision is if it was revealed by the Spirit. Once again God proves his faithfulness. This event shall be a landmark or a stake in the ministry of Redeemer’s Way. This will be a strong “sustaining word” Thank you Pastor Terry, I look forward to getting to know you and the family of New Life more in the future. It is going to be interesting discovering what God will do with our friendship in the future. You can visit New Life’s website by clicking here.
